We’re preoccupied by the pursuit of money and material things.
Once acquired, we obsess about financial advice, tax schemes and investment strategies to keep them.
They appeal to our desire for rewards, recognition and security in an anonymous and uncertain world.
The challenge is that the more we place our faith in material things, the less we place our faith in God.
Christ warns against obsessing over worldly concerns to the detriment of spiritual ones.
Christ cautions against living life for ourselves instead of for God.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will save it. (Matthew 10:39)
Life is a gift from God. Unless we live our life as God intended, it is as if we are given a beautifully wrapped package and never open it.
I pray that I may live my life as God intended. With His grace, I will.
