Worry

Worry is an admission that we do not trust God to care for us as He has promised.

It’s easy to get caught up worrying about material things and not appreciate the more important things that God has given us, which money cannot buy.

When we worry, we divert our energies away from God towards something else. Worry is an admission that we do not trust God to care for us as He has promised.

Jesus counsels: “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.” (Matthew 6:31-33)

I pray that I commit each day to putting God first and living my life as God intended. I pray that I trust God to know what I need and provide it, both now and in the future.

Jesus reassures us, “… don’t be anxious about tomorrow, God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.” (Matthew 6:34)

Be grateful for the gifts you have been given, including the opportunity for a worry-free life.
