There is increasing emphasis about the importance of “being on the right side of history.”
More importantly, we need to be on the right side of God.
And God is color blind, showing no partiality and loving equally people of all colors: “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Don’t judge by a man’s face or height, for this is not the one. I don’t make decisions the way you do! Men judge by outward appearance, but I look at men’s thoughts and intentions.” (1 Samuel: 16-7)
Look past peoples’ appearances. Listen to their thoughts and hear their intentions.
Love and treat all people, regardless of the color of their skin, as you would ask God to love and treat you.
Someone asked Jesus, “‘Sir, which is the most important command in the laws of Moses?’ Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important commandment is similar: ‘Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.’ All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them. Keep only these and you will find that you are obeying all others.” (Matthew 22: 36-40)
