The early Christians were an Easter People. In the darkest hours before the dawn following Christ’s crucifixion, they did not lose faith in Jesus – nor in His promise that He would return.
Forgiveness is a gift from God. It’s a gift of love and mercy. It unlocks the chains that prevent us from healing and moving forward. Yet forgiveness is just that — a gift. It is not an entitlement. It’s ours either to accept or reject.
By recognizing our mistakes and accepting responsibility for them, we can demonstrate our faith in Christ’s forgiveness and acknowledge our human fallibility. By so doing, we take advantage of an opportunity to grow in God’s grace.
Until we stop judging others and forgive those around us, it seems we are not free from judgment upon ourselves.

As my faith has grown, so has my capacity to forgive in a genuine manner.
